It;'s the start of the year and I’ve been reflecting on 2024- what I’ve learnt, what I’ll carry forward, and what I’m leaving behind. Growth isn’t just about adding new things to our lives; it’s often about replacing unhelpful patterns with healthier, more empowering ones.
Here are three thought patterns I’m replacing as I step boldly into 2025:
1. From Hesitant to Courageous
For years, I let self-consciousness hold me back. Whether it was sharing ideas, stepping into new opportunities, or simply asking for help, I often hesitated. This year, I realised that self-consciousness is more concerned with how you appear than how far you progress.
This shift started when I decided to take my public speaking more seriously. I stopped overthinking and sent emails asking for guidance, even if it felt uncomfortable. The results? Incredible connections and growth. Being courageous doesn’t mean fear disappears, it means you act despite it.
2. From Guarded to Connected
For a long time, I told myself I didn’t need new friendships. This mindset stemmed from past betrayals and disappointments. But this year, I learned that while people have the right to act as they choose, it’s not my job to carry the weight of their decisions.
By releasing old fences, I’ve welcomed beautiful new connections into my life—authentic, enriching friendships that have brought so much joy. Relationships are a gift, and opening my heart has allowed me to experience the blessing of connection.
3. From Sporadic to Consistent
Consistency was a game-changer for me last year. I’ve stopped consulting my emotions before taking action. Whether it feels convenient or not, I’ve committed to showing up, because consistency isn’t about feelings; it’s about discipline.
This lesson has impacted everything from recording podcasts to running classes and of course, nurturing The Baby Cot Shop. Consistency means keeping appointments with yourself, staying true to your word, and trusting that small, steady steps lead to big results.
As we step into 2025, I want to encourage you: don’t let hesitation, failed relationships, or inconsistency hold you back. You have everything you need to live boldly and fully; the proof is in your desires.
Here’s to a fantastic end to 2024 and an audacious start to the new year. Let’s make it unforgettable!
